Bad Johny

A bedtime story for Democrats to tell their children.

Johny tried very hard to please his mother. He helped with chores, did his homework, and always had a kind word or deed for those around him.

One day, his mother pulled him aside. “I have something important to tell you.”, she said. “You are a very bad boy.”

“But why, mom?”, asked Johny.

“Because your great, great grandfather was a very bad person and part of him is in you.” replied his mother.

“What did he do?”, asked Johny.

“People back then did terrible things.”, said his mother.

“Did my great, great grandfather do bad things?”

“Go to your room and don’t come out until I get you.”, replied his mother.

When she came to get him, Johny asked what he could do to be a good boy.

“Well there is one thing.”, she said. “You could admit that you are a very bad boy and say you are sorry.”

Johny was confused, but he thought about it for a while and said, “Mom, I am a very bad boy. Will you forgive me?”

“No”, replied his mother.

“But why?”

“Because you are a very bad boy. Now go to your room.”
